Professor Abdellatif Aboubakr is a professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain. He is a former professor and head of the Curriculum and Teaching Methods Department for Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, as well as a former deputy dean of the Faculty of Education at the Suez Canal University, Arab Republic of Egypt. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Arabic Language Education and Islamic Studies from Zagazig University, Egypt, in 1998; a master’s degree in Arabic Language Education and Islamic Studies from Zagazig University, Egypt, in 1995; and a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University in 1988.

He held positions as an assistant lecturer in 1997, assistant professor in 1998, associate professor in 2005, and professor in 2013.

His research interests and academic experiences encompass applied linguistics, utilizing the findings of brain research and neuroscience in curriculum development, especially in Arabic language and Islamic studies education, teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and learning difficulties, and adult education.

He has authored more than thirty research papers in Arabic language education and Islamic studies, as well as in the utilization of brain research findings in education. He has also authored several books on creativity, Arabic language and Islamic studies education, and educational assessment considering brain research, among others.

He has supervised dozens of masters and doctoral theses and has examined nearly a hundred dissertations. He has participated in dozens of conferences on curriculum development, teaching, and learning, particularly in Arabic language and Islamic studies education.
