Dr. Bashirah Ibrahim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Math, Science & ICT Ed. Her qualifications are: Ph.D in Physics Education (2009), University of Cape Town, South Africa, MSc in Physics, with distinction (2005), University of Cape Town, South Africa, BSc (With honours) in Physics (2003), with certificate of merit, University of Natal, South Africa, and BSc in Chemistry and Physics (2002), University of Natal South Africa.
Her research areas are the Nature of Science, physics problem-solving, conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning and STEM education. Her research embraces a mixed method approach.
She is the recipient of the following awards: Certificate of Recognition for contribution in research, International Scholar Research Exposition, The Ohio State University, USA, November 18, 2016.; Lifetime Award of the American Physical Society’s Outstanding Referee, American Physical Society, USA, February 25, 2021; and Distinguished Faculty in eLearning and Distance Education, E-learning Center, University of Bahrain, September 13, 2023.
