CAEP-Accredited-Shield

Bahrain Teachers College (BTC) was fully accredited with no areas of   improvement or stipulations on April 23, 2023 by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation(CAEP). This action resulted in the maximum 7-year accreditation

CAEP Accountability Measures:

Measure 1: Completer Impact and Effectiveness

According to the University of Bahrain’s Survey Guide, the Alumni Survey is conducted every 5 years after the graduation of the first batch. The Alumni Survey targets those who have spent around 2 to 3 years in the workplace to gain insights of the graduates’ views and perceptions of the programs that graduate from. The listed surveys covered the Bachelor of Education program, the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and the School Leadership Program. The remaining programs are enlisted for this survey as follows:

  • Bachelor of Primary Education – Academic Year 2029-2030
  • Teacher Leadership Program – Academic Year 2025-2026
  • Special Education Program – Academic Year 2025-2026

Prior to this, the Ministry of Education is also consulted on an annual basis for their views of completer impact of effectiveness.

Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement

The Program Principal Survey is conducted to gather data regarding the satisfaction of the employers and stakeholders of BTC graduates from different programs. The listed surveys covered the Bachelor of Education program and the Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Focus group interviews is a qualitative tool to gather more insights about BTC graduates from different programs. The listed focus group report covered the Bachelor of Education program, the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and the School Leadership Program. The remaining programs are enlisted for this survey as follows:

  • Bachelor of Primary Education – Academic Year 2028-2029
  • Teacher Leadership Program – Academic Year 2024-2025
  • Special Education Program – Academic Year 2024-2025

Prior to this, the Ministry of Education is also consulted on an annual basis for their views on all aspects of the programme.

Measure 3: Candidate Competency at Program Completion

The Senior Exit Survey is conducted on annual basis upon the graduation of the batches. It aims to gather data regarding the satisfaction of BTC graduates from different programs. It measures the graduate’s satisfaction in terms of university facilities and support services, academic advising, teaching and learning quality, overall university experience, as well as future plans.  The listed surveys covered all programs for the Academic year 2022-2023, which are the Bachelor of Education program, the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, the School Leadership Program, the Teacher Leadership Program, and the Special Education Program. The remaining program is the Bachelor of Primary Education, which is due towards the end of the Academic Year 2025-2026.

Measure 4: Ability of Completers to be Hired in Education Position for Which They Have Been Prepared:   All BTC students are employees of the Ministry of Education, and postgraduate student numbers are restricted to promotion opportunities availability. Therefore, we have a 100% graduation rate.
